Created in 2013, Grands Causses Espace Trail is France’s first Espace Trail.
At a time of Trail resorts, the Millavois territory has made the choice to go it alone. On the strength of its ambitious events, the French Capital of outdoor sports has drawn on its local resources to offer a set of 14 trails marked out according to its own charter.
Thus, more than 280 kilometers have been specifically marked out, offering routes from green to red, ranging from 9 to 50 kilometers.
Successful, in 2015, the ascent of the mythical Pouncho is marked out (2.4 km / 480 meters D+).
In 2017, 8 new routes see the light of day. 5 circuits were created between Larzac and Dourbie, while 2 others were added around Millau. The latest is a 120-kilometer itinerary. Run over 2, 3 or 4 days, the route has a taste of the Endurance Trail des Templiers.
In 2021, it’s a new extension on the scale of the Parc Naturel Régional des Grands Causses that brings the total to 35 circuits for more than 700 kilometers of marked trail routes.
