Millau, a cycling destination

At a time of explosion in soft mobility and electric assistance, cycling is more than ever at the heart of our daily lives.

In training, on a ride or on an itinerary, “road cycling” finds a place of choice in the Grand Causses. Indeed, they offer exceptional panoramas, confidential roads and all types of gradients delighting the most seasoned as well as beginners, so… Saddle up!

The XC or Cross Country or so-called “rando” mountain bike is very well represented through two local clubs and quite a pool of enthusiasts.

With 11 circuits ranging from strolls along the banks of the Tarn to technical circuits, you’ll have plenty of time to discover the quality of the region’s trails and tracks. All circuits are accessible with a VTTAE, and there are filling/washing/repair stations in Millau, Le Rozier and Veyreau.

Historically, the DH de Millau (downhill), set in the idyllic surroundings of the Millau Viaduct, has hosted some fine competitions and seen some of the discipline’s champions flourish.

The development of enduro riding has established the Grands Causses as a promising area. Indeed, the quality and number of trails lend themselves particularly well to the practice, and Millau has been able to host two rounds of the French Cup and one round of the World Cup.

The birth of a network of trails and the creation of a bike park now make it possible to complete the already well-supplied panoply of cyclos disciplines in the area.

Gravel is simply a (high-performance) road bike with tires suitable for trails and paths (versatile).

The limestone plateaus surrounding the outdoor capital offer an impressive number of kilometers of trails suitable for gravel.
