A family fishing trail

Whether you’re a fishing enthusiast or an experienced angler, this family-friendly course is made for you!

A fishing trail

for families

A popular family activity, fishing is often an opportunity to create exchanges between generations. In Millau, just a stone’s throw from the town center, a special course was inaugurated in May 2019. Three secure fishing posts and one post specially fitted out for people with reduced mobility are installed along the Tarn, on the plain of the Graufesenque.

Fully accessible to all and secure

The station specially fitted out for people with reduced mobility is equipped with a parking space in the immediate vicinity, a picnic table as well as a guardrail. The other three fishing posts, spread out over the 300-meter course, are secured by a small stop. The path that runs alongside this course makes them accessible to all: mobile people, the elderly or those with reduced mobility.

Fishing

outdoor activities

This family-friendly trail reinforces fishing as a fully-fledged outdoor discipline. Access is signposted and possible by car, via the road leading to the Graufesenque archaeological site. And the educational aspect has not been forgotten. Near the pontoon, an explanatory panel shows the fish that live in this part of the Tarn.

Trout releases

The fishing stations are located on a section of the Tarn classified as second category, so the discipline is possible all year round. Local stocking and trout releases take place. However, if you catch a trout between September 15 and March 15, you must release it! Situated on the banks of the river, with all the necessary facilities, this family fishing course is set in the heart of a large natural area just a stone’s throw from Millau town center. Opposite the Gourg de Bades beach, escape and adventure are on the other side of the river!
