La Dourbie

The Dourbie, which flows into the Tarn, joins the latter at Millau. Less long in terms of navigation, but wilder with its cliffs in the upper valley, the Dourbie is a river renowned for its water quality, especially among anglers.

    The Tarn

    Although not as busy as other major rivers, to the point of creating traffic jams on the river, the Tarn is still a great river for whitewater enthusiasts.

      Rivers, architects of the CaussesTarn, Jonte and Dourbie

      Recovered by the seas over 130 million years ago, the limestone plateaus (called Causses) were created by the passage of rivers leading to erosion. These 3 rivers were the builders of our Causses, c creating valleys at the bottom of which our rivers flow today.

      Note, however: the Jonte is the only one where you can’t navigate!!
