The Trail de la Cité de Pierres takes root on the 120-hectare natural site of the Cité de Pierres in Montpellier-le-vieux.
The event has been devised for everyone, young and old on courses of 3 km, 10 km, 16 km and 31 km.

This trail follows the historic path of discovery of this extraordinary place. A unique experience in the heart of the Parc naturel régional des Grands Causses, to be discovered over a weekend, in trail or hiking mode, alone, with friends or family.

“We run in a truly exceptional setting”, Here, the first pages of Tourism were written… Under the impetus of EDOUARD ALFRED MARTEL, founding father of speleology. The Cité de Pierres was one of the very first natural sites to be developed for the excursionists of the belle époque, the pioneers of tourism.
Monotraces galore! The course is almost exclusively on trails that are sometimes rolling, sometimes rocky…but always single-track and in harmony with the site.
A trail that’s in tune with the DNA of the region: restored Causse villages or “simple” ruins with secret charm, Causse steppes or deep forests, rocky chaos…you’ll encounter the soul of the Causse!
An event that controls its carbon footprint and conveys a message in favor of the environment. “Even if it won’t be perfect, we want to show that we’re aware that we need to take action.” All the products used, particularly for the refreshment stands, are organic or in the process of being converted.
Championnat de France de Trail. This year, the Trail of the City of Stones will count towards the French University Championship!
