What can I do with my dog in Millau and the Gorges du Tarn?

Family adventures!

Taking your dog on vacation is an adventure! Finding activities to do with your dog, finding activities for which dogs are allowed… that’s the challenge of a family vacation!
We’re currently working on qualifying an offer dedicated to welcoming our 4-legged companions. Don’t hesitate to let us know your wishes and needs.
But in the meantime, here are a few ideas for activities to spend a great vacation with your dog in Millau.

In millau

Millau is a human-sized town with a “Sud de France” atmosphere. So it’s great fun to wander around town, strolling through the historic heart… with your dog, of course.

All season long, Millau bubbles with entertainment, street shows, musical terraces, markets… Ideal for a stroll with your dog!”

Millau is built on the banks of the Tarn. Just 5mn from the town center, the Promenade des Berges du Tarn is an excellent urban stroll for the whole family to enjoy, with your dog.

It’s on this promenade that we advise cani-skate enthusiasts to come for a stroll. The path, with its ideal surface for dog-drawn skateboarding, varies between beach, safe docks, green spacess… it’s all there!

Hiking and walking

Hiking with your dog can be great fun in Millau and the Gorges du Tarn. Indeed, the relief quickly transforms the trail into an agility course!

Along the hiking trails, there are numerous “baumes”, rock shelters, tunnel caves… to discover while playing hide and seek with your dog. Erosion has also sculpted the limestone, resulting in “ruiniform” rocks with extravagant shapes, some of which are ideal play obstacles for climbing, jumping, having fun.

That goes for kids and pooches alike! 100% naturalcanine jumping!

When you add the breathtaking scenery of the cornices of the Gorges du Tarn, de la Jonte, de la Dourbie or the great wild expanses of the Grands Causses, the canimarche in Millau is a must.

On these same trails have developed over the last ten years or so permanent trail courses (Grands Causses Espace Trail), perfectly suited to canicross! Run with your dog in the footsteps of the Trail des Templiers, the Course du Viaduc de Millau…

Don’t hesitate to contact us to advise you on the course that suits you best.

Water

Cani-canoe or cani-paddle?

The Gorges du Tarn et de la Dourbie are 2 jewels of nature that you’ll have no trouble descending by canoë with your dog. The very wild courses are punctuated by small beaches where the whole family will enjoy the picnic or a swim.

These 2 rivers are also navigable bystand-up paddle. However, for cani-paddle, we recommend the Gorges du Tarn, which are “gentler” and more stable for your pooch.

In many places in the Gorges du Tarn or the Dourbie, you’ll find boulders, passages between rocks… swimming with your dog can quickly become a amusing family water hike.

Don’t hesitate to contact us to advise you on the route that suits you best.
